Dave Parker, Owner and Founder of Cams Automotive and Performance, was more or less born with a wrench in his hand. Working on cars since he was kid, there was no doubt that the mechanic’s life was the route he was going to take. After graduating from Marcos De Niza High School in Tempe, AZ, he quickly started his career as a mechanic. Already working as an apprentice in a repair shop, Dave went to AAI and then got his ASE Certification.
For the next 18 years Dave was a dealership mechanic for various Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, GMC and Pontiac dealerships around the valley.
Eventually, He realized that the dealership mechanic life was not for him. “It didn’t allow me to have the flexibility to help people out the way I wanted to” -Dave. So Dave packed up his tools and left. It did not take long at all for him to be back in business. He spent the next few months fixing vehicles out of his home garage with the help of a few of his friends. Before you know it, he had a cars lined up down the street waiting to get fixed. Noticing the amount of faithful customers that he had, Dave decided it was time to take the next step and open his own shop. On November 1, 2009, CAMS Automotive and Performance was born.
Dave has not looked back, no matter how good or bad things are. Being a small “mom and pops” style of shop, Dave leans on the support of his loving and understanding family (pictured), the CAMS Team, and the faithful customers that visit his shop everyday.
“Being a small business owner is tough, but the reward comes when I see a happy customer drive their vehicle out of my shop knowing that they got the best quality work at a fair and honest price. Then refer their friends and family to me and return for more service when they need it. ” – Dave Parker
